John Sutter built this Fort during the time of the gold rush when pioneer families arrived in California in wagon trains. Today it has been restored and captures the history of those times which makes it a fascinating place to visit with the family to see what life was like in California many years ago.

Directions

Traveling on I-80, from San Francisco, take Business 80/Hwy 50 east. Take the Business 80 exit (north towards Reno) to the N Street turn off. Travel straight on 30th Street then turn left under the freeway at K Street to the Fort which will be located on your left.
