A great day out for any budding artists out there, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has a superb collection of permanent art exhibits to get the creative juices flowing. Step back in time to discover objects worn by the Samurai, the feared warriors of Japan and leap forward to the present day to exhibition Metropolis, a sculpture of a miniature bustling city complete with cars and trains zooming along the freeways.With plenty of art programs and craft activities for kids, movies to watch, music to stir the senses and beautiful open space to wander in the heart of LA, LAMCA is an excellent day out for all ages.

Parking for the museum is located at the Pritzker Parking Garage on Sixth Street and on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard at Spaulding Avenue. The $12 charge may be prepaid at a pay station located in each parking lot. Parking is free after 7 pm entry. An annual pass is available to members. Please see website for more details.Features

Directions
From the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10): take Fairfax Avenue north 2 miles to Wilshire Boulevard. From the southbound Hollywood Freeway (U.S.-101): take Highland Avenue 3.5 miles south to Wilshire Boulevard; take a right on Wilshire and proceed 1 mile west.
