Paynes Creek Historic State Park and the adjoining Peace River provide opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. There is a museum at the visitor center telling the story of the lives of Florida's Seminole Indians and pioneers during the 19th century. There are also hiking & nature trails for you to take in the fresh air and a playground is available for the little ones near the picnic area.
